SIGHTSEEING IN PRAGUE

I've been to Prague a couple of times now and I still feel like I haven't see it all! If Prague isn't on your radar, I hope this post introduces you to the beauty of the city.
Known as the City of 1000 Spires, Prague is truly a medieval town. While there is a modern area of the city, this post will focus on all of the fun things to do and see in the older parts of Prague.

VRTBOVSKA GARDEN

Also known as Vrtba Garden, this garden is truly special. Located in Mala Strana, it is almost like a secret garden. You won't find any signs for the entrance - just a large rustic brown door. Another way to enter the garden is through the Aria Hotel, which is attached to the garden.
Admission is 3.50 USD per person or 80,-Kč.

As I mentioned before, the Aria Hotel has access to this beautiful garden and they also have a rooftop terrace restaurant that overlooks Prague and the garden.
A Deluxe King Room is about 360 USD a night and breakfast is included.
It's a beautiful hotel!
Side note, my husband and I got married in this garden. When we got engaged, I googled destination European weddings and clicked on a wedding agency that offered ceremonies here. I was immediately sold. If you can believe, it was even prettier in person!
You can watch our wedding video here. :)

THE CASTLE & GOLDEN LANE

This is a view of the castle (Pražsky Hrad) from Villa Richter restaurant

The castle grounds are absolutely beautiful and definitely worth a visit.  If you purchase at the gate, the full access fee is a little over 15 USD per person, though you can buy cheaper passes with less access. They also offer a family discount.
We didn't do the full access pass. We got the Circuit B pass for 11 USD per person because we mainly wanted to visit Golden Lane.
You can also purchase online in advance and beat the lines. Tickets are 12.66 USD per person and the tour is 3 hours.

GOLDEN LANE

It's a small street, but as you can see, so photogenic!

OLD TOWN BRIDGE TOWER

Located at the base of Charles Bridge on the Mala Strana side is the Old Town Bridge Tower. In my opinion, this is the best view of Prague from above. because it provides a 360 degree view of the city. Admission is about 5 USD per person but be prepared to climb a lot of rickety stairs. Once you make it to the top, it's very cool!

CHARLES BRIDGE

You can't miss this major landmark because it connects Old Town to Mala Strana, but I have to mention it!

LOVELOCK BRIDGES

Like Paris, Prague has their own Lovelock Bridges. One is located at Lennon Wall and the other is under Charles Bridge. To get to the Charles Bridge one, walk about halfway across the bridge, and take the stairs down. Along with the Lovelock Bridge, you'll find down there Cafe Restaurant Márnice, as well. We didn't eat there but had a drink at a table over the river.

RIVER CRUISE TO DEVIL'S CHANNEL

Just across the street from Restaurant Márnice and the Lovelock Bridge is a stand to to buy tickets and the entrance for the Prague's Little Venice Canal Cruise, though, I suggest buying tickets in advance. This is a great way to see the city from a new perspective, and unlike the larger river boats, these smaller boats can fit through the narrow canals. It's also informational. We learned that most parts of the Vltava River are only a meter deep. Who knew?! This cruise is 14 Euro per person and is 45 minutes. The ticket includes one beer.

There is also a Prosecco Cruise that piqued my interest but we ran out of time. It is 23 USD per person and is 1 hour.

fun things to do in Prague

If you stay at Four Seasons Hotel Praguethey offer a prosecco river boat cruise for 56 Euro per person or a private cruise for 340 Euro per hour. Each cruise is 50 minutes and the private cruise includes a bottle of prosecco, water and homemade pretzels.

LENNON WALL

The other Lovelock Bridge is at Lennon Wall. Be sure to stop by Lennon Wall to get inspired. Filled with John Lennon and Beatles song lyrics and quotes, this wall is uber instagrammable.

THE ASTRONOMICAL CLOCK

Last but not least, stop by the infamous Astronomical Clock in Old Town Square. You should definitely get up early for this one as it gets extremely crowded! Every hour on the hour, the clock will play music and put on a little show. At 605 years old (at the time this article was written), it's a sight to see.

LETNA PARK

Unfortunately, I did not get any pictures of this park because I was enjoying my Pilsner in the beer garden while taking in the sweeping views of Prague. If you have time, this was definitely enjoyable. It's quite far away, so you'll have to take the metro and walk a bit but the views are worth it.

VILLA RICHTER

This is another spot that is kind of a hike to get there but the views are gorgeous. As I mentioned before, my husband and I got married in Prague in 2014 and we had our rehearsal dinner here. I remember the food to be good, nothing spectacular, but the view of Prague certainly made an impression. This restaurant is actually a vineyard so be sure to get a bottle of the local wine! Also, you'll need to make a reservation with a table on the terrace.

GOLDEN STAR HOTEL

I mentioned this in a previous post of my favorite Prague hotels, but I wanted to note that this hotel is in walking distance to Villa Richter and Old Town Square. This makes it my favorite because we could get almost everywhere on foot from the hotel. If you want more information on this darling hotel with breakfast included, read this post.
